Elegant Pillowcases

These are pillowcases
are two-color with a contrasting under-skirt. They were fun and easy to make. On Monday I was at a workshop at Bob's Bernina to learn to make these pillowcases. The directions came from Through the Needle by Kay Hickman. I could not find a date on the materials. The design is embroidered on the main part of the pillowcase and then a contrasting fabric is used to make narrow under-skirt. These are going to be give to two precious granddaughters.

Free Standing Lace

This is another Valentine design that I purchased from Mountain Thread Art. This is free standing lace that is entirely made on the sewing machine. The stitches will stay together after the soluble stabilizer is washed out of the design. I am sending similar designs to the grandkids and great granddaughters. I know they will like them. Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!

Free Standing Lace Valentine Angel

This is a free standing lace (fsl) angel that I embroidered on my Bernina. It is made entirely of thread. The angel is stitched on water soluble stabilizer that is washed out when completed. The stitches are designed to interlock and stay together when the stabilizer is removed. I purchased this design from Mountain Thread Art. I did embellish with some glitter on the heart. The angel is about 4 inches high. These will probably be gifts for Valentine's Day.

Finished Quilt

This quilt is finished except for the label. I picked it up from the long arm quilter on Saturday. It is a pattern by Judy Laquidara from Missouri. She has a website and has "Quilt for an Hour" patterns that she develops in EQ6. The directions are written so that you can work one hour or so each day on the project. She calls this quilt Freeze Frame. This quilt is made of batiks. Right now is does not have a name or an owner.
