This sixteen inch quilt was made to be given to another quilter in an exchange. The center is machine embroidery and applique called "Bloomin' Flowers" from The Stitch Connection. I have used their patterns for several quilts. The border technique is a bias folding method that I saw in Paducah. New Leaf Stitches has several patterns that use the method. I enjoyed meeting the designer and seeing her patterns.
Today I am working on the heart quilt. Yesterday I spray-basted the layers and today is quilting day.

This is just beautiful Jane. So many little details. Love the applique and the scallop border w/the buttons. I've never seen anything like that before. I must checkout those links.
I'm getting closer to doing an applique project -- well I figured out how to do it on my machine..does that count? lol
Of course, machine applique counts. I have an embroidery module and that is how I do my applique. The quilt is about ready to ship to its new owner. Just had to put on a few more buttons and a label. Thanks for the compliments.

Jane! Your wonderful pkg arrived today - I can't tell you how much fun opening its contents was! I don't know which I like better - the w.h. or the binder with my initial! I think binder as it'll be put to use right away! Don't worry about not using southwest colors-whatever they are-I don't use them nor would I! thank you thank you!! Love them!!!xox - barb
P.S. thanks so much for your efforts - especially love the "fake"scalloped border! I'll have to try that sometime! Thanks so much! Loveit!Loveit!Loveit!xox - barb
I am so surprised that the package has arrived so soon. I am glad you liked the quilt and the notebook cover. I loved making both of them.
