Last fall a 95-year-old guild member called to tell me that she would present a program to the guild about Cathedral Window quilts. Well an hour later she called me again and said she did not know what had gotten into her but she couldn't do that. So I asked if I could do the program if she would teach me how to sew a Cathedral Window quilt. So a couple of weeks ago I spend some time with her as she showed me. I also took a photo of her beautiful quilt. Then it was time to develop a program and make a small quilt. So the small quilt is my version of a Cathedral Window quilt. It is entirely completed by machine and 8.5 inches square--unlike the original version that I saw. But I thought you would get a chuckle out of my quilt as compared to the original.

Every time I see one of these I wonder "what were they thinking" so much time and fabric. They are so beautiful when finished! I have never been able to find one in a yard sale. Congrats on learning the technique and double congrats on teaching it to others. be good cw
Thank you Cheryl! It was fun to make but I don't think I have time to make a big one. Too many other projects in the mix.
